The lure of advertising
The ACTU recently sent out through their email channels, their latest anti-IR laws commercial. You can watch it below.
The only problem is (as I put it on the youtube comments page) that it's too wordy and difficult to follow. If it were on TV, the average viewer (that is: those who need to see and understand this commercial the most) wouldn't get it the first time and just switch off, thinking 'I'm not really into politics'. It's true, it's true. I know you care about politics, but no one else does. No one who votes and watches A Current Affair for their current affairs.
Bitching as usual, eh Franzy? Yes. Yes, I am. But I also thought that I could do it better. I could write, direct, design, produce, score and edit a commercial that will get the same message as the ACTU one across to those who need it most in roughly a third of the time.
I give you: Franzy's alternative IR commercial:
(And by the way, if there are any ACTU PR types out there with money to spend on a catchy ad campaign that will appeal to donkey voters, leave a comment and I'll get in touch).
