Pretendulthood
I’ve almost coined a phrase before, but today, while I was working away on my PhD (yes, it’s still happening), I think I coined a new word:
Pretendulthood n.
The lifestyle which people under the legal age of adulthood undertake in which they participate in activities generally regarded as acceptable for (or at least less harmful to responsible adults, but that are legally unavailable, under restricted availability or seen as morally inappropriate for non-adults, without facing the long-term moral, legal, physical or economic consequences of those activities.
Couldn’t find it on Google, couldn’t be bothered digging any further. Who likes my new word? Who’s heard it before? Who thinks it’s useless?

f,
of course it isn't useless; now you have to sell it to the masses. a neologism--freshly coined term. actually, that might make for an extremely quirky, but nearly interesting blog concept--a list of words that began as neologisms, and a list of your own neologisms.
my favorite neologism is the word "nostalgia".

I've got a couple for you from a dictionary I've been working on with my seven y.o:
• Flooger – the tiny bit of boogie that can sometimes hang in someone’s nostril, swinging to and fro while they’re talking and they don’t know about it unless you tell them to wipe their nose;
• Trogloclompus – a person who falls over when wearing silly shoes; and
• Paranoisier – the feeling of worry that the party happening down the street is a lot more fun than your own... I have plenty more!
